What is this?

On June 9, 2026, Anthropic released Claude Fable 5 — a Mythos-class AI model and the most capable publicly available LLM ever launched. It scored 80.3% on SWE-Bench Pro, lapping GPT-5.5 by eleven points. Stripe migrated fifty million lines of code in a day. For three days, the future arrived.

Then on June 12, the U.S. Commerce Department issued an export control directive and Anthropic suspended access for everyone — not just foreign nationals, everyone, worldwide. Three days. That's all we got.

Within 48 hours, the internet did what the internet does: people built websites to obsessively track whether it was back yet. This page tracks those websites. We are the tracker tracker. The meta-monitor. The watcher of the watchers. We ping so you don't have to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Claude Fable 5 back yet?

No. As of June 2026, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 remain suspended worldwide. Anthropic's official status page at status.claude.com still reads: "We've suspended access to Claude Mythos 5 and Claude Fable 5." This tracker tracker monitors all known availability trackers so you can check one page instead of twelve.

Why was Fable 5 suspended?

On June 12, 2026, the U.S. Commerce Department issued an export control directive citing national security concerns. The directive required Anthropic to immediately suspend access to both Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all users — not just foreign nationals, but everyone worldwide. Anthropic has publicly stated it disagrees with the characterization of the risks but is complying with the legal directive.

When will Fable 5 be available again?

No official date has been announced. On June 18, Anthropic's Chris Ciauri said "within days" at a Seoul conference, but no restoration has followed. The situation involves ongoing negotiations between Anthropic and the U.S. government over the severity of jailbreaking concerns. This page will update the moment any tracker detects Fable 5 availability.

What is a tracker tracker?

When Fable 5 was suspended, people immediately built websites to monitor whether it came back online — isfableback.com, isfableback.org, fableban.com, and others. This site tracks those trackers. We ping each one from Cloudflare's edge network every 60 seconds and report which ones are still online, their response times, and their uptime. It's trackers all the way down.

Can I still use Claude without Fable 5?

Yes. Only Fable 5 and Mythos 5 were suspended. Claude Opus 4.8, Sonnet 4.6, and Haiku 4.5 are all still available on claude.ai, the Claude API, AWS Bedrock, and other platforms. Opus 4.8 is the next most capable model available.

How many Fable 5 tracker websites exist?

We currently monitor 12 sites — 2 official Anthropic pages and 10 community-built trackers. Most appeared within 48 hours of the June 12 suspension. New trackers are added as we discover them. If you've built one we're not tracking, let us know.
